I was sitting on the harbour wall, with a malt whisky when I took this one...Almost Heaven..

We intend to have an American breakfast sometime over the holiday,so any special pancake recipes or hints and tips on your cuisine will be very welcome...And I promise to post a shot of the breakfast so you can all have a laugh at my efforts.

Alun Lambert from cheshire, United Kingdom

Looks like that boat has seen some action, great feel to the image.

@Alun Lambert: A hard working Man and his boat.

Les from Lincoln, United States

@Les: Almost!!! Yes!!..."No Dancing Girls" ;>))

@Calusarus: Thanks for your comments.

jamesy from christchurch, New Zealand

Is this a normal position for the fishing boat in the UK ours normally work best on the sea hehehe. Great capture

Ah well, you Kiwi's are a little bit out of the way down there, but haven't you heard of fish farming??..Obsolete fishing boats are now placed on the foreshore, for amateur photographers to take shots of, and then post them on blogs so other photographers in isolated areas can see them, and gaze in awe at the wonders of modern technology. ;>)))

Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United States

You and Jamesy have a funny thing going here, but I'll comment on the sharp photo! :D
I love the colors here, Jeff!

2 Dec 2008 7:48pm

@Judy: Funny people these Kiwi's,I think its something to do with sheep...But then..We've got a lot of sheep in Wales...I'm going for a lie down, thinking hurts.

willow from Chelsea, United States

I really like this whole series of harbor images, but this one especially - I think cause of the more simple nature of it. The colors are great. I'm with Jamesy, though - isn't it supposed to be upright in the water? I'm landlocked so I don't know much sea stuff so I could be wrong...

2 Dec 2008 7:54pm

@willow: Thank you for your comment Willow...Have you read my reply to Jamesy's comment??..!!It's the truth!! Believe me I know about these things...I could never live where you do,Pembrokeshire has over 50 beaches, the most beautiful county in Great Britain. :>)

lisa v from Gawler, Australia

Looks like there's hardly room on that boat for the fisherman.

Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United States

Let's all jump on there and go for an adventure...
In answer to your response to my comment... I will go to England, Scotland, Ireland or Wales... actually really anywhere but the UK is a place I have wanted to see... the bags are always packed... hehehe

2 Dec 2008 10:07pm

@Fliss: If I win the lottery this weekend,i'll send you the tickets...I notice you put Wales at the end of your list..Save the BEST till last.."Sensible" ;>))

peter from new york, United States

absolutely classic shot mate. this is the kind you enlarge and frame on the wall of an old tavern. well done!

2 Dec 2008 11:48pm

@peter: "Tavern" Your talking my language Peter.

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

It looks as though it is fully equipped. maybe if we all get together we could push it out into the water and go for a sail?? Maybe we should wait for the water to come in. Great shot Jeff.

2 Dec 2008 11:58pm

@Marion: You'd better bring your seasick tablets,it can get a bit lumpy in those waters.

Bookfool from Vicksburg, United States

Geez, your visitors are hilarious. I have absolutely nothing to add, except I like the photo.

2 Dec 2008 11:59pm

@Bookfool: Thank you mate,I seem to attract all the nutters. ;>))

Jeffster from Long Island, United States

I like the backlighting on this shot - especially the orange thingies that are glowing on the back of the boat.
He looks like he could use a couple of drinks too - after a long day at the fish farm.

4 Dec 2008 1:23am

@Jeffster: Those orange thingies are the buoys..I would not be surprised if he had a little bottle stowed away in his cabin.

Anthony Lambert from Germany

I bet he wishes he could have a wee dram right now.

4 Dec 2008 5:28pm

@Anthony Lambert: He's not the only one.
