@Linerberry: With the run of tide on this stretch of the river it can be very hairy,but I know that these kids were well supervised.

Can you expand on that title Jeff.
Is it the helmets, the wetsuits or the paddling.
Have to agree canoeing is a delight
Though my preference is a Canadian one. You can carry a bigger and better lunch in them.

Glad there is no thinning hair in the foreground.

wonderful wide DOF in this making a beautiful scene, I used to so love canoeing at that age also, hasbeen far to long since I have been in one

I just love this photo all over. Love the bright kayaks and the background -- especially the fact that you can see livestock clearly on the hill.

Messing about at the beach was all I wanted to do as a kid but my father was sure we'd drown and would'nt let us go on our own, despite all the swimming lessons and the fact that half the kids in town were down there on their own.
Water, no matter what type, is always such a big attraction to a child. I like the loo of those houses in the background.

@lisa v: He must have loved you a lot to worry so much,kids don't see danger until it's to late...I was brought up in and around boats and the sea,and it was great...I do hope you meant you liked the <look>of the houses. ;>))
